Hi girls, I have this fun-cool-DIY tutorial for all of you. It was so much fun doing all this and coming up with my own small little lip gloss palette. It is really handy and my only complain is that it can’t hold a small applicator/lip brush in it. Otherwise it is PERFECT. πŸ™‚

Ok, so let me tell you what I did, and how I did. πŸ˜‰ Well, you need to have some basic things first, to start making this up. You either need some good eye shadow colors which you want to use, or some lipsticks, lip-tints etc. I have made tinted lip balms in past too. (Check post here.) But this time, I added the benefit of a ready-to-go palette too. It holds all beautiful colors which I use on daily basis.

The thing is that I am not too much comfortable with bold lipsticks. But I love to have little tint on my lips. So, daily I used to apply small amount of lipstick on my lips and then dab it off with a tissue and then apply a tinted lip balm. In this way, I used to get very tiny color on my lips. But you know, the process is long and you can’t do it every single time.. especially when you are in a hurry. So, I came up with this DIY tutorial. And in my case, I used only lipsticks and lip-tints to make new shades.

Ok, to begin with you need to have a small palette. I used this round one which is mostly used for keeping nail art rhinestones and accessories. πŸ™‚

Advantage of choosing something like this is that it has got a small opening on top and you can rotate it to reach up to the desired color. But disadvantage is- you can’t keep any small brush along with it. You need to carry it separately.

Then, to have a base of your preference, choose any lip-balm. I picked this nivea one which is not transparent. I wanted to have non-tinted base so as to get exact colors of my choice, but I was having no choice. πŸ™

Then, take out the balm from its stick with the help of some scissors.

Make sure to do all this messy stuff on some tray/plate/coaster sort of thing and keep loads of tissues handy. πŸ™‚ You will also require a brush to mix all the stuff together. I used backside of a painting brush.

Then, I divided the total amount of balm in five parts. You can have as many as you want.

After that, pick colors of your choice and start mixing them with these balms to get the shade of your liking. First of all I used a coral shade which is very bold and opaque and I always have to tone it down. So, I picked small amount of this lipstick and mixed it with lip balm.

So, this was the color which I came up with. And then I transferred this to the palette which I am using.

After this, the next color which I used was a dusty rose color.

And the color which I got after mixing them together was beautiful brownish pink shade. It still looks dusty rose but with strong brown undertones.

Then, the third shade which I picked was a hot pink lipstick.

The color still looks quite bold in the pics, but in reality when you apply it with a lip-brush it comes out looking very natural just like a tinted lip-balm.

Then, fourth shade which I used was a coralish Red lip-tint.

This is by far the most flattering color on my skin tone. I am sooo much loving this shade that I am planning to make it in a separate jar too (just to keep in stock). πŸ˜‰

And this is the last one. I used mauve lip-tint for this one. I personally feel that mauve/purple/lilac/lavender all these shades make me look more tanned. So, I always avoid them. But since this time I was making a palette I thought why not to add it too. πŸ™‚

And I am glad that I did it because look how gorgeous this color turned out to be.

Just transfer all the shades into the palette and ta-da that is done. All shades look uber cool and I am totally loving this palette. πŸ˜€

The best thing about it is that all shades are very moisturizing and hydrating because of the lip-balm thing. And then since it is custom made, so obviously it’s sort of unique and rare. πŸ˜‰

Ok, before moving further, let’s clean this up.

Hmmm.. so here is your own hand-made and eye-candy lip-gloss palette. BTW I will advice you to pick some such palette which can incorporate an applicator too because otherwise you would have to carry that separately. I have found a REALLY small one in some makeup kit and I am keeping that brush in my compact whenever I am going out. Otherwise it becomes really messy to apply them with the help of your fingers. I guess old eye shadow palettes (quads or long pencil box shaped ones) can be better choice for making such lip-gloss palette. Plus you can also have a mirror in them. πŸ™‚

So, girls that was all. I hope you liked it and would give it a try. Do share via comments how it turned out, in case you give it a try. πŸ˜€
